Chairman's Feb 2011 Report.

This report will cover December January and February.

We never had a meeting in December because it was too close to Christmas.

In January we had our Christmas meal at The Brent House restaurant which was very well supported by members and guests.

Unfortunately none of the pics I took were good enough to upload onto the Web site.

For our January meeting we Chris Pouncy from Robert Sorby tools give us a very good demo.

Chris started his demo by showing us the Robert Sorby Sovereign hollowing system.

He also demonstrated the Robert Sorby Wobble chuck the members found this particularly interesting.

He then went through the Robert Sorby texturing tools .

The members all seemed to really enjoy the evening and showed their appreciation by spending on tools and abrasives.

Thank you Chris for a good evening and hopefully we will see you again in the future.

Our February meeting was a great success keeping up with our system of having a demo by a club member and having hands on at the same time Mark Sanger demonstrated the new Crown hollowing system and some texturing tools.

Next month I will be demonstrating colouring and texturing.

Mark Sanger is now sponsored by Crown tools and has a page on his Web site for tool sales. www.MarkSanger.co.uk

Unfortunately for me I was unable to watch Mark as I was supervising the hands on lathes.

As a matter of interest I will be doing a review on my Blog shortly on several hollowing systems on the market.
